Real Questions That Need Real Answers

A doula is a person who provides continuous emotional, informational and physical support before, during and just after birth. Douals provide non-medical support by providing encouragement, information and a variety of comfort measures to help the birthing parent and family throughout their birthing process. Clinical Studies  show that the presence of a doula at birth tends to result in shorter labors with fewer complications, less interventions, a greater success with breast-feeding and an overall feeling of a more positive birth.

IN WHAT STAGE IN OF MY PREGNANCY SHOULD I HIRE YOU AS MY DOULA?

The ideal time is as early in your pregnancy as possible!

This allows us both to get to know one another and to discuss your plans for your pregnancy, labor, and birth as long as needed. It also gives you more time to explore the resource options that I may be to connect you to in your area.

HOW WILL HIRING YOU AFFECT MY PARTNER’S ROLE DURING THE BIRTH?

In the most positive way! Your Partner offers you a level of support that no Doula can match! In no way could I take their role or responsibilities as the other parent.  In birth, two heads are definitely more beneficial than one and we both have the same goal! Educating your partner enables them to be properly informed to advocate and care for you and baby. Hiring me as your Doula also gives your partner the ability to restore their energy, or manage the household responsibilities to be the overall best support to you and baby.
